Our RE displays in our classes.
We all have an up to date display in our rooms showing the value for this half term and showing some of our work so far.
Easter has arrived at Tudor.
We remember the Easter story and the hope this brings to us all.
Parables.
Year 1 and 2.
Some children have been learning all about parables in the Bible.
Here is some of their art work as a response to this.
Can you guess which parable they thought about?
Proverbs.
The children in key stage 2 have been learning about proverbs and have written some of their own and others.
RE curriculum
At Tudor CE Primary School, all the clases are following the Emmanuel Project produced by St Edmundsbury and Ipswich Diocese. It provides 22 enquiry based units for teaching Christianity in RE for Early Years/Foundation Stage, KS1 and KS2.
At Tudor we aim to be as creative as possible with our RE teaching and so far this year our children in FS have dressed up as 'Superheros' during their unit on Superheros, children in key stage 1 have Christened and baptized their class doll and children in key stage 2 have visited St Gregory's Church and written a sermon based on the parables of Jesus and delivered it from the pulpit.
RE is considered to be a core subject at Tudor and it is an important part of the week for every child.
The units meet Suffolk Agreed Syllabus requirements. They are adaptable for use elsewhere and are based on key beliefs / concepts in an enquiry framework. They provide background on Christian beliefs for teachers and introduce material on the Bible, church practices and living as a Christian. They also offer ideas for assessment.
