Our Vision for PE
At Tudor, we believe that physical education is a vital part of every child’s development. Our goal is to ensure every pupil leads a healthy, active life, developing not just physical skills like balance and coordination, but also life skills such as resilience, teamwork, and ambition.
We aim to provide:
- 2 hours of high-quality PE lessons every week.
- 60 minutes of daily physical activity for all pupils through playtimes and classroom activities designed to increase heart rates.
- A range of extracurricular clubs and competitive opportunities.
At Tudor we have got six full size tennis courts on site. We provide tennis coaching to our children in the warmer weather on a weekly basis.
Curriculum and Government expectations
Here at Tudor, we follow the National Curriculum for PE, with our teachers and our Sports Coaches leading sessions. We have a trained gymnastics coach on our staff who leads sessions too..
The Government expectation is for each pupil to participate in at least 2 hours of physical activity, which is achieved through the above arrangements.
PE enhancement
Each class in Upper Key Stage 2 will access swimming sessions at the Kingfisher Leisure Centre, with qualified swimming coaches and our trained members of staff assisting.
At Tudor we hold an annual Sports Day for all our children over on our large sports field. Parents are invited to watch and support their children.

PE Uniform
We provide a coloured t shirt for every child starting at Tudor in reception. Our coloured t shirts for PE are available through our school office or you can source them locally elsewhere. we ask the children to wear their school jumper on a PE day. The children now come to school dressed for PE (they do not change in school).
We strongly recommend that no earrings should be worn for safety and long hair must be tied back.
