Emergency Closures
EMERGENCY CLOSURE OF SCHOOL DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER CONDITIONS
In case this winter should see weather conditions severe enough to cause the emergency closure of the school, we would like to remind you of our emergency procedures. If conditions are severe first thing in the morning, firstly check our website and Twitter and Facebook feed to see if information has been updated. In addition to this please listen to local radio. We aim to have a decision made by 7.30am if school will be open or closed.
You will all receive a text message via parentmail and also an email informing you of the decision to close. Please make sure you have given us up to date telephone numbers to help this.
The school closures website will update regularly and as soon as it has received notifications from schools so please check here also.

Assume school is open unless a message is given out to the contrary.

Although you may not have heard that school is closed, if you feel the weather conditions are so bad that your child would be exposed to unnecessary danger whilst travelling to school, then please keep them at home.
In some cases the school may open later to ensure that there will be adequate supervision for your child. This will also be emailed or broadcast.
Please avoid telephoning school unless you have an emergency. If the phone lines are blocked with incoming calls, we cannot contact County or local radio.
Yours sincerely
