Spring Term 2020

In maths we are revising the topics which we have previously covered.  We want to feel really confident about co-ordinates, angles, shape, fractions and to make sure that we can carry out calculations carefully and accurately.  Several times each week, we are doing half an hour of arithmetic to keep our skills really sharp!

We can recommend Top marks Daily 10; Transum.org – the daily starter and Matific as websites to look at to help with any extra maths you would like to do.

In our English work we are revising all of our SPAG learning.  This includes: word classes; tenses; noun phrases; spelling rules and a full range of punctuation.  We are continuing with our daily guided reading sessions- we use Reading VIPERS as a way of structuring our question types.

In topic work we are continuing to study Achievements and Legacies, focusing on Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome.  Our main texts in English work are linked to these topics: Percy Jackson and the Lighning Thief  and A Midsummer Night's Dream.

We will be taking part in PE on both Thursday and Friday afternoons.  All the children need a full PE for these lessons.
