Autumn Term 2020

We are a Year 6 Class, Mrs Rowley is our teacher and Mrs Willett is our Teaching Assistant. Our team works closely with Mrs Jones and Mrs Mansfield to support all our Year 6 children.

We look forward to welcoming back the children after many had a break from in-school education in Year 5. We will be reviewing the learning from Year 5 this term before we move on to the Year 6 curriculum. We will be enjoying work on a whole school theme, inspired by a piece of art.  This will help us to adjust to the new systems in school and make sure that we are comfortable in our new class.

Homework will be set regularly, using the school learning platform where possible. We ask that children in Sandringham Class read at home every day and complete book quizzes regularly. We also expect them to use their Times Tables Rock Stars log in a few times each week.  We believe that children who have a rapid recall of times tables fnd the maths work in Years 5 and 6 much eaasier as so much of the work relies on these facts.

All children in Sandringham Class will be transfering the secondary education at the end of this academic year.  We strongly suggest that children and parents make the most of opportunies to visit (in whatever form that is offered this year) the secondary schools which they are considering for thier child. Please contact Mrs Rowley if you would like to chat through the options open to you. Usually, the deadline for school applications is 31st October, but please check the information which will come home with your child in September. The link below may help with any further questions:
