Hatfield Home Learning - 13.7.2020

Hello everyone,

Only one more week left to go.  Well done to everyone who has been working hard on these home learning challenges throughout lockdown.  We know that it hasn't always been easy and that some days have been better than others, so we are incredibly grateful for all the hard work you've put in and for sharing your learning with us on Tapestry,

As this is the last week of term, we've planned a gentler week, incorporating some typical end of year activities around sports days and parties!  Please just pick whatever interests you and have some fun.

We will upload the White Rose Sheets as usual should you wish to continue to use them this week.

Have a great week everyone and hopefully we'll see you at one of our zoom lessons this week.  It really would be lovely to see all your faces!

Mrs. Gray and Mrs. Sayers

Please find attached the home learning for this week. We love finding out how you're getting on and what activities you are enjoying, so please do keep us posted.

I will post the White Rose Maths Sheets separately for those of you who prefer to use them. There are still practical games and activities offered as an alternative on the home learning menu for those that prefer them.

Have a good week and we look forward to hearing from you.

Hello everyone,

I hope you all managed to enjoy some of the sunshine this week and it wasn't too unbearably hot for you.

Please find attached the Home Learning Menu for Hatfield this week. Thank you, as always for all the work you've been sharing with us on Tapestry. We continue to check in regularly and love seeing what you've all been up to.

Have a good week this week and do let us know if we can help with anything at all.

Mrs. Gray and Mrs. Sayers

Hatfield Home Learning - 22.6.2020

Hello everyone,

We hope that you are all keeping well and have managed to enjoy some time outside this weekend. Next week promises some lovely weather, so let's hope it continues during next weekend too.

Please find attached the home learning menu for this week. We are continuing to theme some of our learning around the current situation. In school, we found that the children benefited from sharing their experiences and feelings. They took some comfort in knowing that everyone has experienced similar difficulties as well as enjoying some wonderful memories with their families. Thank you to those of you who have already sent in your leaf for the our Tree of Life. If you haven't already done so, please feel free to send them in this week as we are printing them off and adding them to our tree display to show our shared memories.

I will upload the White Rose Maths sheets as always for those of you who are enjoying using them.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your hard work. We know that many of you are balancing many different responsibilities at the moment so we really do appreciate the time you're making to support your child and share their learning on here. Thank you!

Have a great week and, as always, we look forward to hearing from you.

Mrs. Gray and Mrs. Sayers

Hatfield Home Learning - 15.6.2020

Hello everyone,

I hope that you're all OK and keeping well. Isn't it lovely to have some sunshine today after such a miserable, rainy week? Hopefully the sun will decide to stay.

Thank you again for all the wonderful work that you're doing at home. We're enjoying finding out what the children have been up to each day and seeing their smiling faces, It really brightens our day.

Please find attached Hatfield's Home Learning for the week. We have decided to focus a little on the experiences of lockdown as we are well aware of the impact that it has had on children and adults alike. We've themed our creative activities around an idea that we can collate for the whole Key Stage. We aim to share this with you all to remind the children that they are still very much part of the Tudor Community. Please do take part in this activity and send photographs of your work in via Tapestry. Mrs Sayers has already created a beautiful display board to put all the children's memories on and we will share a photograph of all the work when it is has all been put together.

I will upload the White Rose Maths sheets on Tapestry as usual for those who prefer to use them but do feel free to explore the more practical activities that we've offered as an alternative for those who don't have access to printers or who find their children work better without the worksheet.

Have a wonderful week and we look forward to hearing from you.

Mrs. Gray and Mrs. Sayers

Week Beginning 30.3.2020

Hello everyone,

Thank you once again for all your hard work last week. It was great to see what you've all been up to. Please do continue to share on Tapestry as it's wonderful to keep in touch. Please find the home learning for Hatfield and Felbrigg attached below. We have included some more open ended tasks this week, incorporating some activities that are not so reliant on using the computer or having lots of resources to hand. We will continue to work on this.

As well as the learning that has been shared, we've really enjoyed hearing some of your ideas about the things you have been doing at home. One of the children has been practising her spellings by writing them on the garden fence with chalk, others have practised letter formation in flour. Another family has been keeping a diary each day as a way of recording this event in the world's history. If you have had any successful ideas that have engaged your child, we would love you to share them on Tapestry. This would be a great way to support and inspire each other through this.

We also want to reassure that it is OK to have a day that is not completely focused on sitting at a desk and learning. It is important that you do what is best for your family during this time. Having time as a family to create something or play a game are all building blocks to learning. Just dip into the home learning tasks when it suits you.

Take care, keep safe and we look forward to hearing from you over the next week.

Mrs. Gray and Mrs. Sayers

Home Learning - 1.6.2020

Hello everyone,

Welcome back!

We hope that you've managed to have a nice break and have enjoyed spending time in the sunshine with your family. We really have been incredibly lucky with the weather!

Please find attached the home learning for this week. Much of our learning this half term will be based around plants and nature so we hope that you enjoy it.

I will upload the White Rose Math's sheets separately on to Tapestry for those of you who prefer using them.

We look forward to hearing and seeing what you get up to this half term. Please be aware that all staff will now be working in school with those children who are due to return this week. This may mean that our responses to uploaded work are not as immediate as they may previously have been but we are still very keen to see all your learning and to be able to assist if you have any questions, so do please keep sharing on Tapestry. We really do enjoy seeing what you are doing at home and will respond as quickly as we can. Thank you for everything you have done so far to support your child and for the support you have given us too. Keep up the good work everybody. It really is appreciated.

Many thanks,

Mrs. Gray and Mrs. Sayers

Week Beginning 11.5.2020

Hello,

We hope you are all keeping well.  I saw lots of wonderful celebrations for VE day on Tapestry.  Thank you so much for sharing your photographs.  It was lovely to see.

Please find attached the home learning for Hatfield this week.  Please remember that the activities on here are suggested activities and we are more than happy for you to adapt and change to the needs of your family as you see fit.

We have kept the link to White Rose Hub for Maths for you, particularly those that like the more formal approach of this website.  However, starting this week, White Rose Maths are only making the videos free to parents.  Fortunately, we have a subscription as a school, so we are able to make the sheets available to you via Tapestry.  I have included the Year One and Two sheets along with the home learning.

Can I also recommend this site to you which is completely free. I particularly like the Maths as it offers ideas on how to teach the concepts in a practical way.

https://kids.classroomsecrets.co.uk/home-learning-timetable/

If you do choose to this website this week, please feedback to me how you get on.

Thank you all once again for your continued hard work.  As always, I continue to be so impressed with everything the children do and the way that many of you are juggling your own work or the needs of siblings throughout all of this.  Please know that everything you're doing is great and that there is no right way of doing any of this. The needs of your family are your priority.

Have a great week.  I look forward to seeing all your posts on Tapestry.

Many thanks,

Mrs. Gray and Mrs. Sayers

Week Beginning 4.5.2020

Hello everyone,

Well here we are at the end of another week.  I just wanted to say a huge thank you again for all your hard work this week.  I have seen some wonderful learning taking place and have really enjoyed seeing some of the fun things you have been up to.

Please find above the home learning for next week. I know that home learning is challenging in many ways and I think that you are all doing a fabulous job.  Please do not feel that you have to do every single one of the activities that are suggested on the learning menu.  It is exactly that  so feel free to select activities that take your fancy and that interest your child.  We do not expect you to replicate the school day in any way and know that the most important thing at the moment is your family and their  well-being. It is important that you do what works for you.

Please do share with us what you have been up to . It is great to keep in touch with you all and to know that you're safe and well.  If you have any questions or need some support message us through Tapestry.  We are on hand all week to help in anyway that we can.

I'm hoping that we might get a bit more sunshine this weekend.  I hope you get to have some relaxing time with your family and are able to enjoy it.

Thank you once again,

Mrs Gray and Mrs Sayers

Week Beginning 27.4.2020

Hello everyone,

Please find below the home learning for this week.

A huge thank you to all for all your hard work last week.  We really enjoyed parents sharing their children's learning with us on Tapestry and hope to see many more added this week.  We are incredibly fortunate to be able to use Tapestry in this way and the Key Stage One Team are available throughout the day to offer support and encouragement should you need it.  It really is lovely to see all the wonderful things that that children have been getting up to whether they are linked to the home learning tasks or not, so do please share with us what you're doing.

We have continued to keep the learning as open ended as possible, but have included the option of using the White Rose Maths if you would like to use something more formal.  Please do keep us posted on how this is working for you and if there's anything you need from us in terms of support.

Have a lovely weekend and keep safe!

Hi everyone,

Please find attached the home learning for this week. Thank you for your feedback on what is working well and what you felt could be improved. We have made sure that no sheets need to be printed out for Maths and have kept the tasks quite open ended. Do let us know how this goes. If you preferred using White Rose Hub online learning you can still access the videos etc by following the link below.

The BBC are also running online lessons. I haven't been able to preview them yet but they will be available from tomorrow should you fancy dipping in to some of those. I'll have a look tomorrow and point you in the direction of any that I think might be useful for the children and their learning. https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zn9447h

There are also some useful games on Monster Phonics website. https://monsterphonics.com/home-learning-in-the-covid-19-lockdown/

Tapestry - Sharing your child's learning

Please read the information below to support you in using Tapestry to share your child's learning.  There are some useful links and tips to follow for using it. I check Tapestry regularly during the day and enjoy seeing the children's learning.  It's also a really useful tool of communication between parents and teachers that I can use to answer any questions you have or support your child's learning.

Happy Easter!
