2015-2016 1

Here are a few samples of the children's work that they have created whilst investigating their topics. The children enjoy seeing their work on display around school and are very proud to talk about it too.

2015-2016 2

We have half termly days where the children can work in mixed age groups to produce some learning together. Recently we have all sewn a felt cross to create a display in each classroom, or made some art installations to take to our church to help us celebrate Harvest. These days form part of our enrichment curriculum.

We encourage the children to continue their learning at home by offerring activities that they can complete at home to extend their learning. We receive some impressive creations made at home! We have seen castles, cakes and sewing projects all devloped at home to support the learning in school. We celebrate this learning in our weekly Celebrations assembly.

Our children in Early Years are encouraged to ask questions to help them explore the world around them. They visit local places, cook regularly, and help to create events that involve their parents: we recently had a mince pie tea party! We encourage parents to help support the learning at home by our use of an online learning journey. Parents and staff can work together to provide the best possible learning opportunities for all children.

In our Christmas Around Day, each house group researched how Christmas is celebrated in a different country. The children looked at maps, learnt some of the new language, made some crafts or did some cooking and then presented their findings to parents in an assembly the following afternoon. Everyone learnt a lot, and it was lots of fun too!
